The cheapest BYDs in the UK
The Dolphin Surf — the European version of the Seagull — is BYD's cheapest UK car. If you can't charge at home, the plug-in hybrids are the next step: the Dolphin G DM-i from £23,990 and the Atto 2 DM-i from £26,995 can cover short trips on electricity and use petrol for the rest.

Since January 2026 the high-voltage battery is covered for 8 years / 155,000 miles (250,000 km) with at least 70% state of health — including existing cars and plug-in hybrids. Roadside assistance is included, and the remaining cover transfers when the car is sold.
